RESORT & LODGING INFORMATION

Do I book at Secrets or Dreams?

Short answer is either. Secrets is adult only, Dreams is for families, they are connected to each other, and the rooms are identical except for the color of the decor. Dreams guests usually have limited resort access but our wedding guests staying at Dreams need to use our Room Code to get full resort access like Secrets guests. Due to current Secrets availability, we had to block rooms at both locations. If/when Secrets rooms open up, the resort will move wedding guests without children to Secrets.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY ROOM?

We ask that you book your room as soon as possible. You will need to put down one night as a deposit to book the reservation. The remaining balance will be charged 45 days before the wedding. The reason we ask you to book ASAP is we are required to put down a deposit to hold the rooms. Once guests book and commit, we have a better sense of how many rooms we need to release. If any of the room block goes unreserved and the rooms are not released, we need to pay for them in full.

I am planning to attend alone and do not want to share a room. How do I make an reservation for a single room?

Please call the hotel to adjust your reservation. There is a lower rate for a single room guest. The toll free numbers are Secrets 1-866-467-3273 or Dreams 1-866-237-3267.

OTHER THAN AIRFARE, LODGING, and Transportation to/from airport WILL I BE EXPECTED TO PAY FOR ANY WEDDING ACTIVITIES?

No, we are hosting the boat cruise. We ask for you to bring $10 per person to the boat cruise for gratuity but only ask you to tip if you enjoy yourself and the service was good. Since it is all inclusive resort your food and drink is taken care of with your lodging. The only other items you would need to pay for is the spa, excursions, any off site activities, etc.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

HOW FAR IS THE PVR AIRPORT FROM THE RESORT?

Depending on traffic, the Bahia Mita Secrets Resort is about 40 minutes and/or 20 miles north of the PVR airport.

How should I get to and from the airport and resort?

We recommend taking an Uber, reserving an Amstar shuttle or taking a taxi. They are listed from least expensive to most expensive. See additional information below.

Should I reserve an Uber, Amstar shuttle or take an taxi?

Ultimately it's up to your comfort level. If you have travelled to Puerto Vallarta or out of the US frequently, then an Uber would be a great option. Like many airports, once you clear customs and start to toward the exit with your luggage, there will be many people trying to provide transportation. If this situation is overwhelming for you, you may want to reserve an Amstar shuttle.

UBER

Due to the presence of a "taxi mafia" at the airport, Uber drivers are not allowed to pick up passengers from the terminal. Instead, you must cross over the pedestrian bridge in the south-east corner of the airport to get to the Uber pickup spot. The bridge is wheelchair-friendly and thus it's not too hard to cross over it with suitcases. When going back to the airport, Uber is allowed to drop you off directly at the terminal. Overall I'd say this is a superior option to the "official" taxi unless you have a lot of luggage.

Once you exit the airport, turn left and in 100 feet or so and you will see the pedestrian bridge. After you are over the bridge, you can call your Uber.

An Uber will cost 550-650 Mexican Pesos which roughly converts to $30-$36 USD.

(800) 895-3000

If you rather have transportation schedule and ready for you when you land, you can book airport transport with the resorts onsite partner.

Currently the cost of a shared shuttled ride is $42 one way. This shuttle is shared so you may have short stops. The Amstar representative will be waiting for you near the exit of the airport.

Official Airport Taxi

(888) 870-7407

After you exit customs and go past the numerous taxi touts, there's an office selling "official" taxi trips. You can pay in cash (MXN/USD) or by credit card. After pre-paying, you get a slip that you give to the taxi driver outside after waiting in line. The rates are posted on the website below and are about 2x more expensive than Uber.

You would be going to the NORTH AREA/NAYARIT near PUNTA DE MITA which is around $129 for up to 3 people or $192 for up to 5 people.
